Hello Future Volunteers!
We are so excited you would like to get involved with the CalEDU/CalColor Teams. We are looking for independent, and strong volunteers to help our students, teachers, and other staff members.

 

What are the Sign Up Steps?

  1. Age Requirements :
    • Summer Camps & Yearly Volunteers, Ages 14-25
    • Special Event Volunteers all ages are welcome
  2. Please fill out this Google Form & be sure to schedule your interview.
  3. After your interview you will be notified if you are qualified or not.
  4. Setting up your account & a brief training of our volunteer site.
  5. Signing up for your first Opportunity!

  • Location: We have 6 locations all over the bay area, you can volunteer at the site near you or any sister sites that you would like! You do not have to stay at one location but have an opportunity to try any location once you are approved.

 

What Kind of Volunteer Opportunities do we Offer?


Summer Volunteer :  Teaching Assistant + Prep and Organization (High School, Young Adults, Ages: 14 - 25)
  • No Experience needed
  • Summer Volunteers, will choose a schedule of 20 or 40 hours a week, this is a weekly commitment during Jun - Aug to help us host our Summer Camps
  • Looking for responsible volunteers who take initiative, and who are timely
  • Art Background & volunteer experience is a Preferred
  • Task may include: Material Prep for Classes, Inventory Organization Help, Site Decoration, cleaning brushes and other art materials, and helping teacher manage classroom
Special Events Volunteer :  (All Ages Welcome)
  • No Experience needed
  • Special Event Volunteer, will sign up when we have upcoming events
  • Looking for responsible volunteers who take initiative, and who are timely
  • Task may include: Event Set-Up and tear down, talking with customers, and helping with craft projects for the public
  • We have events throughout the year you can sign up for, and will list regularly on our volunteer site.

Yearly Volunteer :  Prep and Organization (High School, Young Adults, Ages: 14 - 25)
  • Summer Camp Volunteer Experience with us preferred, along with at least 1 teacher recommendation
  • Yearly Volunteers usually only volunteer 1 or 2 days a week 1.5- 3 hrs a day,  this program runs during the regular school year Aug - Jun
  • Looking for responsible volunteers who take initiative, and who are timely
  • Task may include: Material Prep for Classes, Inventory Organization Help, Site Decoration
  • Yearly Volunteers can upgrade to volunteer lead and help with volunteer summer training.

 

What Growth Opportunities are Available at CalEDU?

Here at CalEdu we put effort into making a growth path for our volunteers. We truly want our volunteers to get experience and be able to use skills learned here to use in there future careers.

Level 1 : Summer Camps & Special Event Volunteers

  • All start at Level 1, these opportunities are available for anyone to sign up for once they are approved for our program.

Level 2: Yearly Volunteers

  • At this point you have already have 1 or more staff recommendations to return to our program during the school year.
  • You will volunteer during the school year, and get to make your custom schedule with the volunteer manager. We are extremely flexible and you can donate as much time as you want.

 

Level 3: Volunteer Lead

  • These volunteers are hand picked by the volunteer manager to help lead our volunteer trainings and act as a leader at the site they reside.
  • They will help the volunteer manager throw our large training day event at all six locations. Helping with Check In, Set Up, Gift Prep and all the little details that go into planning these events.

 

Level 4: Teachers Assistant

  • These volunteers are hand picked by the volunteer manager to help with our after care program.These few amazing volunteer will become apart of the CalColor Team as an Actual Staff Member.
  • Volunteers will volunteer 1/2 Day and the other 1/2 they will be Paid! They will work as an assistant to help care for children in our after care program for parents who cannot pick up there kids right after class.
